TOGETHER, We Are Great - HBCU Village
We believe that college students who receive parental and community support are more likely to graduate on time, and with minimal debt. With this in mind, we've created the Lima/Allen County HBCU Village, where we provide encouragement (text messages, phone/zoom calls), share important information/resources (skill building, networking, mental health, scholarships, financial literacy, internship/job opportunities, transient student options, life skills and spiritual development), and we send care packages (hygiene products, food, school supplies, etc.). If you, or someone you know from Lima/Allen County (OH) is currently, or planning to attend a HBCU, please encourage him/her to reach out to us so that they, and their family can be added to our Village Roster.
Current Schools Represented in the Lima/Allen County HBCU Village include: Alabama State University, Alcorn State University, Bethune-Cookman University, Central State University, Howard University, Jackson State University, Kentucky State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina A&T University, Simmons College, Sounthern University (A&M), Texas Southern University, Wilberforce University and Xavier University (Louisiana).
A special THANK YOU goes out to Procter & Gamble, Walmart and several anonymous donors. Village participation/support is open to all individuals, families, businesses, churches and community-minded organizations interested in ensuring a successful college experience (retention and graduation) for our students.
